Great poster by Chicago based designer Mig Reyes for blog wars. Mig designed a non-traditional club poster to promote Blog Wars, a gathering of Chicago's top dance music DJs—who all happen to run (very successful) blogs. This approach utilizes a custom crafted logo that parallels the flow and feel of vinyl records, all while maintaining a very classic and swiss aesthetic. I am really liking this poster from Brazilian based designer Andre Bergamin. Great use of color and typography.

Look at that me actually remembering to do my poster inspiration post on Thursday, when I'm supposed to crazy. The dynamic duo of Dan Kuhlken & Nathan Goldman make up DKNG. DKNG work includes everything from photography to identity. In addition, and I think quite possibly the coolest thing they are involved in, the DKNG team is currently the resident poster artists at the world famous Troubadour in Hollywood, CA.

Since I missed the poster inspiration post last week, along with a ton of other posts, this week there will be two poster inspiration posts. Wow I said post a lot in that first sentence.
Here are some pretty sick posters from designer Miles Tsang, and he designs them almost exclusively in Illustrator. Check out the rest of his designs over at gig posters.
Large Mammal design is Kevin Mercer. I am a freelance designer, based out of New Jersey. According to his bio he is the genuine article, an honest to goodness, award-winning, smile inducing, effective communicating, thoughtful image-making, easy going and creative designer.

So I have realized that I am far to lazy, or busy, to do a poster inspiration post every day. So I have moved to Thursdays, and a once a week post.

Here is a short list of information about LANDLAND:• LANDLAND kinda used to be called the "2222 Screenprint Facility," but we moved into a new place, so we thought it made sense to call it something else. That, and we got tired of explaining the whole "2222" awkward naming thing all over the place, not that "LANDLAND" is working out any better.
• Some other names associated with LANDLAND are: Dan Black, Jessica Seamans and Matt Zaun.
• We are a small collective of graphic designers, illustrators, screenprinters, relatively decent advice-givers, semi-amateur sink and wall constructors, art makers, big talkers, ex-9-to-fivers, listmakers and clean fighters, among many other things too innumerable to mention here.
• We make all sorts of things all the time, including posters (for rock shows and for lots of other stuff), records and record sleeves (cds too), mailers and advertisements, t-shirts, promotional items for ourselves and for other people, and a bunch of other things.
• We make these things with computers and scanners and photocopiers and drawings and fun printing techniques and whatever we need to use to get the job done.

So I have made it to day 2 of the poster inspiration series, I'm awesome with my extreme sticktoitivness, yeah I don't think sticktoitivness is actually a word but I like it.
Enough of that tangent, here goes with the actual post. The poster inspiration of today comes exclusively from one graphic artist. Paul Tebbott is a Manchester based, go ManU in the champions league final, graphic designer and electronic musician. I absolutely love the retro nature of his work.

So I'm starting up a new daily, well hopefully daily unless I get to lazy to do it everyday, post project. This one is going to be poster inspiration. I see a ton of posters out there on the internet that I really love, but then I either forget to post about them, or they get lost in the giant set of favorites that I have. So I am going to start putting them up her at why me design.
So here goes above is the first, of hopefully many, poster inspiration posts. It was done by designer Justin Erickson for "A Night Of Terror" featuring the bands Ash Lee Blade, Borealis and Dj Gory Lori.
