Peter Karras

Posted by tb4

Wow is about all I can say about these hand cut pieces from Peter Karras. I saw these over at design crush and I just couldn't believe that they were all hand cut by one person. Seriously though each poster is hand cut and individually set, so no two letters (or posters) are alike. Each is cut out of 22 x 30 natural white Archers paper.

Right now just the vowels are up and ready for purchase, but you can order any of the consonants they will just take 6 weeks or so to complete. I'm kind of surprised it doesn't take more than 6 weeks to complete these oh so intricate pieces. Get yours over at the cutty spot, and check out the short time lapse video at the top of the page, it's pretty cool.

Tattoo Tester

The tattoo tester from California based graphic designer JuliAnn Miller, is oh so wonderfully clever. The tattoo tester is a kit that allows you to make temporary tattoo transfers onto your body, it comes with carbon paper and transfer paper to help you do so. JuliAnn came up with this kit to help people choose a tattoo design that they know they will love, so that you wont be one of the 6.5 million people who regret their tattoo. The kit also comes with an information-packed brochure on tattoo history and statistics.

Helene Ryenbakken and four others made the 2009 agenda for Arctic Paper. Arctic Paper is a paper production company, and makes high quality, graphic fine paper. The agenda was given to graphic designers and art directors all over Norway and Denmark, and the purpose was to show off some paper qualities and promote Arctic Paper and Studio 3.

The theme of the agenda was computer and internet on paper. You have these expressions from the paper world that the internet and computer have borrowed, and now they borrowed them back – in an internet wrapping. You can browse, bookmark a page, cut/paste, chat etc.

A very cool and fun project from a great graphic designer, check out a few more photos from the Agenda 2009 project below. Then you can check out all of the work at Helene's portfolio linked below.

An excellent bit of typographical art from Singapore based graphic designer Jarrell Goh, aka fuzzyzebra. Just fantastic work, I love that he used the different opacity's of the word zebra to give the illusion of shading. Check out the rest of his work at his portfolio linked below.
