Canterbury Changing Table

Posted by tb4

This really is one beautiful changing table, but oh my god look at that price tag. A changing table for almost $1500, not to be horribly gross but come on why would you spend $1500 on something that gets pee'd and pooped on. Check the details about it below.

The Nurseryworks Canterbury Changing Table by Lawson-Fenning features a traditional look with a modern twist. The Canterbury Changing Table meets all U.S. government safety standards and is well constructed with optimal materials.

Features:

  • Three long drawers for spacious storage
  • Removable tray that fits a standard changing pad
  • Designer, Lawson-Fenning

Mauricio Harion

Posted by tb4

Oh how I wish this game would have been made back when I was in college, well I just wish this game would be made period. Designed by Brazilian product design student Mauricio Harion, the Enigma is a great take on the classic Battleship game. I'm sure by the second or third game, you would be in for a great night. Read a bit more about the design below and check the portfolio links below that.

This is the Enigma, the classic Battleship game turned into a simple to play (and fun) bar game. It´s played just like the usual Battleship game with one addition. If you miss the target you drink a sip of water, and if you hit an enemy boat you opponent empties the corresponding shot glass. The exterior design of the wood case was based on the enigma encrypting machine as well as the game´s name. The game also features a radar screen to mark the shots of each player and a list of the ships remaining.
Have fun, and drink responsibly!

Mascots

Posted by tb4

Good.is has put together another great infographics piece. It is The Tree of Sports Mascots, a fun bit of infographics that you can learn just a bit from. I didn't know there were 17 professional sports teams that just didn't bother coming up with mascots, look at that you learn something new everyday. Click the link below for the full view of The Tree of Sports Mascots.

Basketball and hockey have just wrapped up exciting playoffs, baseball is in full bloom, and football training camps are starting soon. It’s a great time for sports, and a great time for sports mascots, those oversized toys that help get us excited at games by dunking off trampolines or riding around in little cars. Check out our latest original Transparency on all the mascots of the four major sports and how they are divided among the animal kingdom.

Trailer for Ponyo

Posted by tb4

I absolutely loved Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away, and now Disney is going to release another of Miyazaki's great animated works, Ponyo. I can't wait till this comes out on DVD, because there is no way my wife would let me drag her to this. Watching the trailer I'm not really sure how it is inspired by "The Little Mermaid" but I'm sure it will be great and a visual feast.
From the Academy Award®-winning director and world-renowned Japanese animation legend Hayao Miyazaki comes PONYO, a story inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Little Mermaid."

Already a box-office success in Japan, the story of a young and overeager goldfish named Ponyo (voiced by Noah Cyrus) and her quest to become human features an outstanding roster of voice talent, including CATE BLANCHETT, MATT DAMON, TINA FEY, FRANKIE JONAS, CLORIS LEACHMAN,LIAM NEESON, LILY TOMLIN and BETTY WHITE.

In addition, and I think quite possibly the coolest thing they are involved in, the DKNG team is currently the resident poster artists at the world famous Troubadour in Hollywood, CA.

Bonnaroo

Posted by tb4

Brand new poster from Minnesota based Burlesque of North America. This is a fantastic poster for all of you kids out there that endured the rain and heat of Bonnaroo this year. Check out what the designers had to say about the poster below, and see some detail shots here.

Designing for Bonnaroo is always an interesting challenge in that there are dozens upon dozens of band names to include. This makes prominently featuring any of the artists difficult, so, having designed three other Bonnaroo posters, we usually push the band names off to the side or the bottom and let some kind of type or imagery take center stage. This year I wanted to try to make the bands jump out and be the stars of the poster and came up with the idea to represent each group with an illustrated icon. Some of them are literal (David Byrne’s white jacket), some are inside jokes that only fans of the band will know (Phish’s vacuum cleaner), some are references to song titles (Yeah Yeah Yeah’s “Gold Lion”), and others just came to mind when thinking about the artist (an anvil for the American musical workhorse Bruce Springsteen… THE BOSS).

Beautiful watercolor fashion illustrations by New Zeland based illustrator and painter Nadia Flower. Fragile, delicate, yet graphic and strong – these are the elements that define Nadia Flower's quite beautiful illustration work. Combining hand-drawn and computer-based imagery, Nadia works happily across a variety of visual mediums, from fine art painting to fashion and textile, as well as pure illustration for the editorial and advertising markets. Andrew Zuckerman

Two awesome new books from Andrew Zuckerman are coming out, "Bird" & "Creature ABC." I got the original Creature book for my little nephew and I looked at that book about 100 times before I gave it away. Maybe I'll have to get the "Creature ABC" for my brand new little niece. Check out all the details below.

This is the sequel to photographer Andrew Zuckerman's run-away success "Creature", a book full of astonishing studio portraits of animals. In this new book, Zuckerman turns his camera lens upon winged creatures, shooting them against his trademark white background to allow the diversity and complexity of color and texture to shine. Containing more than 200 photographs of nearly 75 different bird species from Swallows to endangered Penguins, each bird is depicted with rare sensitivity, insight, humour, and wonder. Like "Creature", this book is perfect for animal lovers, orinthologists, photography fans, and anyone interested in the natural world. "Bird" is delightful and thought provoking, offering a glimpse of the most flighty members of the animal kingdom. Pre-Order from Amazon.

Creature ABC -- An elegant addition to any library, this deluxe alphabet book features 120 pages of Andrew Zuckerman's breathtaking wildlife photography. From alligator to zebra, each featured animal boasts two striking studio portraits against a clean white background, offering a unique up-close view of the animal kingdom. Readers can flip to a helpful glossary in the back for extra information. From the sleek beauty of a smiling hippo to the powerful majesty of a roaring lion, this gorgeous new book is both a stunning work of art and a ferociously fun way for young animal-lovers to learn their ABCs.
