Periodic Table Cuff

Posted by tb4

My little sister would love this, she is a chemist and a bit of a nerd, so wearing the periodic table on her wrist probably wouldn't bother her at all. Get this over at Etsy for $45.

Bringing it back to middle school Science class. Hand printed periodic table on soft and supple black reclaimed leather. Shown in gold as adjustable from 7" - 7.75". Also available in white ink.

Stages Collection

Posted by tb4

Nike and Lance Armstrong have teamed up to bring out the "stages" collection. The above jacket is the Livestrong M-65 jacket, and it is a gorgeous jacket. This jacket will be released by Nike and all proceeds will go to support LAF, the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) and its LIVESTRONG™ Global Cancer Campaign. I am going to have to remember to check this out when it is finally released, I think my wife may let me spend a bit more money on a jacket if it supports cancer research, at least I'm hopeing she will let me. Check out a few more details about "Stages" below.

'Stages' brings together more than 20 of the world’s most creative and diverse artists to create original works of art inspired by Armstrong and his mission to raise awareness of the global cancer burden. This unique project brings together the world of art, philanthropy and sport, in a way never before seen, to create artwork that represents the power of human potential in overcoming adversity. Artists participating in the 'Stages' tour include names such as Shepard Fairey, Damien Hirst, Tom Sachs, Barry McGee and Marc Newson. All artists will begin working on their pieces between now and July, leading to an exhibition at the world renowned Emmanuel Perrotin Gallery in Paris on July 16th, 2009. Once it’s unveiled in Paris, each one-of-a-kind work of art will go on sale with proceeds benefiting the LAF. The exhibit will also travel to New York, Portland, Oregon and LA with final dates to be announced.

'This year it’s about more than winning the race. It’s about people coming together to use our talents and abilities for a cause bigger than ourselves and doing everything within our power to help those in their fight to overcome cancer,' said Lance Armstrong. 'This endeavor will help raise awareness and much needed funds for the foundation and those who need it most, researchers, patients, and their families.' To further support the fight against cancer, Nike is releasing two sportswear collections, all proceeds of which will be contributed to the LAF. There will be a 'Hope Rides Again' apparel and footwear collection and footwear 'Greatest Hits' pack.

HI 5

With it getting colder and colder out I thought these gloves would be a perfect addition to anyone's winter outfit. These gloves from Kate Spade are handcrafted by women in war-torn regions. When you buy a pair, you're "directly supporting a woman as she rebuilds her life, family and community." They are currently out of stock on these right now, but check back and I'm sure they will be back up.

Temperature Sweater

Posted by tb4

Awesome fleece sweater from the design group Studio 5050. The temperature sweater is a snug fleece sweater that sports a radiant yet discreet temperature-display on each sleeve. The sweater’s cut embraces the body from all sides made of two interlocking panels, the sweater mimics early construction techniques where loom widths dictate the rules of construction and design. Old and new, our human path, and a bit of humor, make the temperature sweater a warm must-have addition to the wardrobe.

Studio 5050 is a multidisciplinary design studio based in New York. Led by designer Despina Papadopoulos, Studio 5050 explores the fast-paced and increasingly ubiquitous relationship of design, fashion and technology. Blending the style of an artist with the techne of an electrical engineer, clothing and accessories become active and infused with subtle meaning. This transformation is magical in its vision and tangible in its expression.

Fuzz Crime Scene Scarf

Posted by tb4

This would be perfect for girls at bars trying to keep unwanted guys away from them, or just in case you get caught in some sort of CSI Miami moment and have to cordon off a dead body. Either way its great, get it over at perpetual kid for $15.

"This Crime of Passion Scarf is acrylic with a touch of spandex and 100% ironic for that extra oomph! It's just shy of five feet long... long enough to make your statement AND stay warm on those bitterly cold winter days! So cool it's criminal!"
