I loved looking at all of Kyle Spears photos while at Talbott, I especially enjoyed the photographs from Japan, and the Saki kegs seen above are just so much fun.
Kyle Spears camera allows him to look at things closely; asking questions, with light becoming his language. Light is the transforming element that breathes life into an image, gives it power, grace, beauty, mystery, emotional force. It is within the ordinary that Kyle's lens seeks out the extraordinary. Observing, discovering, and evolving.
The monochrome photos are captured with a variety of medium format film cameras and printed traditionally in a wet darkroom. The colour photos are captured with a digital SLR and printed with an Epson printer on archival papers.
