I have been pretty busy today, so not really a whole lot of time to post. But it is almost time for a 3 day weekend, so get outside and have a bit of fun in the sun.

About Me

So my lovely wife and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary this past weekend. It was great, she loved the gifts I got her. I stuck with the whole first anniversary theme of paper and got her some art prints off etsy, a pin hole paper camera kit, and some paper so she could do sun prints.
She got me a very cool gift that I have been looking at for a very long time, the Eco Sphere. Mine looks very similar to the one in the photo above. It has 4 little shrimp in it, I have named them Bubba, Gump, Lt. Dan, and Jenny, a whole Forest Gump theme. I know I'm a dork.

boston.com has a very cool look at what different cities around the world did to participate in Earth Hour, make sure you click the photos to watch the fade. My wife and I passed the time by playing a little bit of aggravation by candle light. Directions for games are a little hard to read by candle light just so you know.

So vacation was great, but right now I am sitting in the Phoenix airport, just like I have been doing for the last 6 hours. So we were supposed to leave quite a bit ago, but when our plane was coming into Phoenix it was struck by lightening, and it died. Now that I have re-read that it sounds bad, so let me explain a bit more. The plane was struck by lightening while in flight but it was able to land just fine, but after that they found some electrical problem so they grounded the plane, there that sounds better. Now we are flying a different airline and instead of getting home around 7pm, right about the same time I'm putting this post up, we will be getting in around 5am. Traveling is fun. Hopefully everyone out there is having a better day than me.

Just a quick post before I get back to work. I am going on a little mini vacation to Arizona coming up at the end of the week. So with trying to get a ton of work done at work and getting ready for the trip I haven't had any time to post here on Why Me. I will try to find some time tonight to get some stuff up.
Then when I get back from my trip I will have a bunch of pictures from the trip to put up so stay tuned.

Oh man did I have an awesome drive into work today. Last night we had 9 inches of snow dropped on us here in Indianapolis, with another 3 or so that is supposed to fall by noon. The drive home should be exciting.
The photo above is my wife at the very start of the snow fall yesterday afternoon, yeah the driveway was still clear. She got a snow day today so maybe she will be a bit adventurous and go take some photos out in the snow.

So I got a new pottery wheel, well not really new the actual wheel looks like it is from the 70's. The company who made it in the first place doesn't even make pottery wheels anymore. But it has a brand new motor and seems to run very well, although it is just one speed so I am going to have to take quite a bit of time learning how to throw on it, should be fun.

Hopefully everyone had a great Labor Day weekend, because I sure did. I got to see a great fireworks show, and started teaching our new puppy how to play fetch, she is getting pretty good. Mostly though I just layed around and relaxed, it was pretty wonderful. I'll be putting up some new stuff today so look out for it.

Sorry for the lack of posts yesterday, my day was far to busy and not with stuff I like to do. My little buddy Oscar, pictured below, had fleas. So that absolutely sucked I had to give him a flea bath and then we had to flea bomb the entire house to make sure they don't come back, hopefully that worked. The only issue now is that he spent so much time chewing on his back foot he can barely put any weight on it, it must be a bit tender, he just hops along on three legs, it is so sad. He goes to the vet tomorrow so hopefully she will be able to help him out.
On a better not I did get to go see Counting Crows last night, they were awesome. They closed with "hanging around" and "rain king" with the help of the opening band Augustana. I was pleasantly surprised with the opener Augustana, those guys sure can sing, and when they helped close the show it was a very nice surprise, it was one of the better renditions of "hanging around" I have ever heard.

So my weekends lately have been crazy busy, last week was a big soccer tournament, which we finally were able to play the championship this past Friday and we won, woot we get a sweet t-shirt. This weekend we got a new puppy, her name is Bella and she is so stinking cute. She is only 3 pounds right now, but she is 3 pounds of angry terrifying woman, not really but that would be pretty funny if she was. I'll get some new posts up today, but if I have some crazy misspellings or bad grammar sorry I haven't gotten a lot of sleep in the past two days.

So no posts again this weekend, I had a soccer tournament that lasted all day Saturday and all day Sunday. Good news is that we won all but one game through the tournament and my team is in the finals, which was supposed to be Sunday night, but god canceled due to a monsoon coming through. Bad news is that I got sucker punched in the first game on Saturday and received my first black eye since high school check it out below, this picture does not do justice to what it looks like now, it is so much more purple now.
