Milk Mustaches

Posted by tb4

Love it, want it. My little nephew would have the soystache, he is allergic to milk, hopefully he gets over that, tan milk is no fun at all. Get it from cafe press for $23, and you have four colors to choose from.

I know these are just design ideas from artist Kerry Roper, but they would make for some badass snowboards, or skateboards.

Wall Sconces

The Dolphin Sconces created by Studio Lilica.
The Mandala Wall Light created by Aqua Creations.
This wall light was spotted at AmeriTec Lighting
Some very cool wall sconces and lights from conemporist, I especially like the dolphin sconces. I think it would look very cool if you had a long line of them placed on your wall.

Jonathan Bartlett

Beautifully vibrant and intriguing illustrations from U.S. artist Jonathan Bartlett. Some of his Influences include THE GREAT OUTDOORS, growing up far away from the cities, Norman Rockwell, pattern, symmetry, faces, music (loud, soft, fast, slow), clever lyrics, a cold drink, exercise, Achille Mauzan, Bo Bartlett, and Claude Monet among others... and all the haters. I love that he is influenced by all the haters that is awesome. Get over to his site, linked below, and check out the rest of his work.

"Your words can work against you"
"Your words can play against you"
"Your words can work against you"

Nice ads from the advertising agency Euro RSCG out of Buenos Aires, Argentina and art director Juan Hernandez. These ads are for Caja de Ruidos, for their public speaking lessons. I mean really couldn't you make like 100 more of these with stuff Bush has said, he makes it so easy.

Scrabble

Relatively clever ads for scrabble from the advertising agency Ogilvy out of Hungary and creative director Gábor Spielmann. The first ad is definitely the most effective, the mug one, the others leave quite a bit to be desired.

Flore de Crombrugghe

Flore de Crombrugghe is responsible for this design, the transparent bath. Flore has added measurements on a transparent bath, allowing you to see how many bottles of drinkable water you are actually wasting. A simple solution to make people think about how much water they use everyday.

Ansel Adams's Yosemite

NyTimes.com has a very cool interactive tour of some of Ansel Adams work. You can hear the backstory on the photographer's iconic images from his former assistant Andrea G. Stillman, development director of the Morgan Library & Museum. This is a very cool interactive display from the New York Times, and you get to hear a lot of background information about each of the photos.

Matone Bank

"CDB Matone. Make your money multiply."

New ads from Maone bank by advertising agency DCS, out of Porto Alegre, Brazil and art director Gregory Kickow. Very interesting use of origami in these ads. Man I wish I could do origami but whenever I try to fold anything it always ends up looking like some sort of plane.

Nike Soccer

love it, love it, love it, the first person perspective is just spectacular. Who would have thought you could tell an entire story in a 60 second commercial but Guy Ritchie does a solid job of it. Guy Ritchie directs the latest film for Nike, starring Wenger, Fabregas, Gallas, Ronaldo and Rooney. From advertising agency 72andsunny out of Amsterdam.

Puma Usan

Posted by tb4

First a foremost very nice new shoes from Puma. Now on to the fun stuff, Puma has a new commercial out for their brand new shoes the Usan. The commercial is very well done and a lot of fun, with all the wire work from the dancers. What I'm really excited about if all the behind the scenes stuff that puma put online. I especially liked the "From the page to the stage" montage, I just love seeing how the story boards relate to the finished product. And it is all directed by Andrew Zuckerman, of Creature fame. Get over to Puma's site and check out all the videos, very cool.

Rick Ivey

Pretty cool steel bean bag chair from designer Rick Ivery, I'm not really sure how comfortable this would be, but it sure would be a great conversation piece. A little bit about Rick Ivery below and a link to the $4500 steel bean bag chair below that, yeah thats right $4500.

After graduating from Advertising at Sheridan College in 1998, Rick Ivey returned to study Furniture Design in Sheridan’s school of Crafts and Design in 2002. He believes that in creating an object, whether for a purely sculptural or functional purpose, the most important thing is the relationship between the piece and the viewer. He strives to push both the limits of his chosen materials and his ability to manipulate them, in an attempt to better understand form and function in design. This activity allows him to challenge conventional forms and traditional approaches to furniture.

Rick was a finalist at the 2005 Niche Awards in Philadelphia, and continues his work in Oakville, Ontario. His future work will continue to explore new materials and forms, as well as re-examine the conventional ideas of everyday objects. He hopes to challenge preconceived ideas of what furniture is, and what it can be.

"The Pink Panther"

"The Green Mile

"The Blue Lagoon"

Very clever ads from the advertising agency Cerebro Y&R out of Panama City, Panama and art director Alberto Weand. I really do like these ads, it took me a little bit to figure out what was going on with these, but once I figured it out I thought them so very clever.

Front Design Studio

Very cool pieces from Front Design Studio. Everything below is from Yanko Design, I was going to write my own piece but they did such a nice job explaining the pieces, I just couldn't think of anything else to say.

Are your objects of tactile reality not quite giving you enough depth, dimension and shading? Neither are mine and thankfully Swedish designers Front are exhibiting their “Shade” project at Spazio Rossana Orlandi during this years Milan furniture fair. Using standard silhouettes of common household items and shading them as if on paper, the designer states his intriguing designs are “like materialized illustrations.” This is what home furnishing would look like if Dr. Seuss and M.C. Escher had a child that smoked really good pot and listened to A-Ha.

Doll maker Yi Li

Can you not get enough of your pet. Do you want to take him or her everywhere with you, even those places that clearly state no pets allowed. Well doll maker Yi Li, better known as Cornflakegirl, can craft a custom miniature plush version of your beloved pet. The cost of your custom dog may vary ($40~$70) depend on color marking, size and breed, and it will take about 3 months or so for you to get your little look a like friend.

Enache Florin

Posted by tb4

Designer Enache Florin has come up with a nice little ambient lamp for home or for larger installations. “O” the spherical ambient lamp is made out of composite materials and consists of elegant art nouveau symbols illuminated at varying intensities by rotating a ring. The lamp can be used as is to breath of refinement in your home but the same technology can be applied to larger installations for advertising.
