Update on 300. Go check out Solace in Cinema they offer up a great screen to comic comparison of the upcoming Frank Miller Adaptation of 300. It looks as if the movie's producers and director are trying to stay as close as possible to Frank Miller's vision. I cannot wait to see this movie. Also here is another trailer, I think it is better than the first. Trailer

So it looks like the Dutch have found a way to make riding the bus cool, still not as cool as when you were in grade school and got to sit at the very back of the bus, but still pretty sweet. The SuperBus goes 155mph and seats 30, each of which have their own door. The best part to get it to pick you up you send a text message to the dispachter and it rolls on up to get you, that is pretty cool. (source)

Willie Nelson and Jimmy Buffet in concert together. Well maybe not but seriously wouldn't that be great between the two of them, Willie with his pound of pot and Jimmy with his 100 pills of ecstasy who knows what the hell would happen. At the very least they would have plenty to give the front row patrons a fantastic show, if not the second row too. Here's to old guys doing drugs college kids and teenagers do, you guys are great.

The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D, yes thats right in 3D. I am a huge fan of this movie, I believe it is one of the finest claymation movies of the last 20 years. The movie, created by Tim Burton, will be rereleased on October 20th. I highly recommend this to anyone who hasn't seen the move yet and of course those who love the movie and want to see it in a brand new exciting format.

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas is a
1993 stop motion animated musical film about the inhabitants of Halloween Town who take over Christmas one year, directed by stop-motion animator Henry Selick. The film is loosely based on drawings and a poem by Tim Burton, and he served as co-producer. He did not direct the film as is sometimes believed, but he was heavily involved. (source)

So Hryhory Chausovsky has created the latests greatest thing to come out of the Ukraine, on second thought he has created the only great thing to come out of the Ukraine. Yes that is right a musical condom, who would have ever thought it could come true. Now teenagers no longer have to waste the battery in their car while parked at the local drop your pants and do the dirty spot. They can just pop on this new condom and they are ready to roll, thank you Hryhory Chausovsky, teenagers everywhere thank you. (source)

MOKB turned me onto the new CD from Shiny Toy Guns. I was a little apprehensive when I first started listening to the CD. After the first couple of songs I was hooked to the very 80s synth-pop sounds that comes from the new CD due out on Oct. 17th. We Are Pilots is a fun CD that pulls you in with its techno feel beats, and keeps you hooked with very indie rock lyrics. My favorite songs are the ones that involve Carah Faye Charnow, she has a great voice that compliments not only the music but Gregori Chad Petree's voice as well. All in all it is a very nicely put togetherr CD, Also We Are Pilots has songs that have cross platform appeal, not only for those indie rockers but the mass public. We shall see, and hope, if any major radio stations actually put them on the air though.

The band began with Jeremy Dawson and Gregori Chad Petree in 2002. Both had known each other for years and worked together on previous music projects such as Cloud2ground and Slyder. After these projects, they went into hiding for a couple years but continued making music together – ultimately morphing into their current sound. Carah Faye Charnow (vocals) and Mikey Martin (drums) both joined the band in 2004.

The band quickly gained popularity locally in California as well as on the Myspace web site. In early 2005 they independently released their first album We Are Pilots. They began touring across America that summer and had several different labels interested in signing them. They re-recorded and independently released We Are Pilots in November 2005, with a revised track list. They continued to tour extensively and were cautious about getting into a record contract until they could get exactly what they wanted. Finally, in June 2006, they signed to Universal Records. Pacers

So I guess this is the Pacer's organization trying to get themselves into the lottery by any means necessary.

Four members of the Indiana Pacers were involved in a shooting incident this morning at a Westside strip club, Indianapolis police said.

Stephen Jackson fired five shots from a 9-mm handgun after someone hit him in the face and tried to run him over with a vehicle outside Club Rio at about 3 a.m., IPD spokesman Sgt. Matthew Mount said. Video from a security camera outside the club captured the car striking Jackson, Mount said. Authorities were looking for an older model blue Oldsmobile with chrome rims.

Jackson, Jamaal Tinsley, Marquis Daniels and Jimmie Hunter had argued with another group of men outside the club at 5054 W. 38th St., Mount said.

"The Pacers said there had been some problems and they tried to extricate themselves,"Mount said.

One of the men punched Jackson in the mouth and then got into a vehicle and ran into him, police said.

"“He was hit in the mouth," Mount said. "“He was bloodied up pretty good."

The attackers fled after Jackson fired his handgun. Police do not know if anyone was injured or if the bullets struck the man'’s vehicle.

Jackson, who has a valid permit for the gun, was limping but refused medical treatment at the scene.

"“We'’re not sure if he just went over the hood or he went over the whole car," Mount said. Jackson told officers he would seek help from the team'’s medical staff and trainers.

Tinsley and Daniels also had guns in their vehicles, Mounts said, but never pulled them during the incident. Tinsley has an Indiana gun permit; Daniels has a Florida permit.

A small amount of marijuana was found in Jamaal Tinsley'’s car, Mount said, but no one was arrested because the drug can not be linked to any particular person.

"“There'’s no way of telling whose it was, hence no arrests,"” Mount said.

Prosecutors are evaluating the evidence to determine if any charges are warranted, Mount said.

Jackson joined the Pacers in 2004. The club said it planned to release a statement about the incident later today.

In a Sept. 13 interview posted on Pacers.com, Jackson said he has a positive attitude is devoted to being a role model for his teammates.

"More than us playing hard and being young guys with a lot of energy, we'’ve got to be smart," Jackson said.

"We'’ve got to make smart decisions on the court and off the court. We'’ve got to be smarter as far as leading the young guys and watching what we do."

Star reporter Mike Wells and the AP contributed to this report. (source)

300

Ok so an official trailer for the adaptation of the Frank Miller graphic novel is finally up in a high quality format on the Apple website, see link above. So if anyone knows anything about Greek history, mythology whatever, this one is not going to end well for the Spartans so don't expect a happy ending with this movie. On a lighter note this movie looks BADASS, the visuals shown in the trailer are absolutely stunning. Visually this should be on par or better than the last adaption of Frank Miller's work, Sin City. We can only hope the story is the same way.

Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, 300 is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite.
